Converting an ale recipe to a lager recipe

Has a anyone ever tried to convert an ale recipe to a lager recipe? I have a seperate part of my basement that gets pretty cool in the winter, and i am thinking of lagering an ale partial mash recipe this winter using a lagering yeast. I have checked online many places and found very few results. If anyone has tried it before please let me know what your results were, good or bad and what are the pitfalls.

Looking to start my experiment in the new few weeks with a dark recipe.
